Top5: Summer Vibes On NetflixCA (2024)

Don’t let all the back-to-school posts fool you, Summer is still here and there are still movie nights to be had! If you’re looking to curl up on the couch with some ice cream or set up a projector in your backyard with friends, here are a few movie and show ideas you can find on NetflixCA right now!

Classic Summer: Fried Green Tomatoes (1991)

PG-13

If you’re looking to laugh, cry, cheer, and gasp this Summer, Fried Green Tomatoes is THE choice. If you’ve never seen it or are just in need of a re-watch this movie goes hard on character building and captures the hot summer days beautifully.

As a child, I was obsessed with the idea of reaching into a beehive and pulling out a honeycomb because of this movie. But also (thankfully) afraid of being stung!

Super Summer: Supacell (2024)

TV-MA

Although the collective decision making skills of these characters left me wanting to fight each of them in the street, this is a fun, action-packed, show that highlights some of the ‘regular world’ issues that could arise when people suddenly get powers. Fingers crossed they get renewed for a second season!

Guilty Pleasure Summer: Emily In Paris (2022-)

TV-MA

This show is absolute nonsense…..and I love it! The outfits are ridiculous, the storyline is flimsy, the characters are basically idiots, I can’t stop watching it! Please tune in for the new season so that we can all romanticize Paris and make fun of Emily’s decisions together!

Romantic Summer: Find Me Falling (2024)

TV-14

Feels like it’s been a hot minute since we got a Harry Connick jr. moment. You know, outside of Christmas playlists! I did temper my Hope Floats expectations before watching, which are very high and was not disappointed. It’s a sweet Hallmark Netflix romantic piece with age appropriate characters. I do wish that there was a little more story to it and that the dreamy local was shown more.

RomCom Summer: Happiness For Beginners (2023)

TV-14

This is cute y’all! I’ve seen my fair share of Netflix rom-coms (I’ll not mention the one’s staring a particular tall former model turned actress…sigh) but this one is really sweet. The side characters are fun and funny and the leads aren’t super one-dimensional. The story keeps it tight and on point which I appreciate in this type of film and I loved seeing Ellie Kemper in a more serious role.

Happy Viewing Buttons!
